Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: June 9, 2026 (previous version effective March 17, 2026)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RugbyStats.net (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), as well as any applicable laws and regulations. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and RugbyStats.net ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to all provisions of these Terms, you are not authorized to access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to such changes.
2. Description of Service
RugbyStats.net provides a web-based platform designed to facilitate rugby union statistical tracking, game charting, film review, roster management, player development, recruiting intake, and related analytical capabilities (collectively, the "Service"). Accounts on the Service are intended for use by adult coaches, analysts, and authorized personnel (age 18 or older) associated with rugby teams and organizations; children and minors may not create accounts. One exception applies: prospective players aged 13 or older may submit a recruit interest form through a public link shared by a coaching program, without creating an account. Submissions from children under 13 are automatically rejected, and no personal data from them is stored. RugbyStats.net reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice.
3. Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, RugbyStats.net grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for your internal coaching, analytical, and organizational purposes. This license does not convey any ownership interest in the Service or any intellectual property rights therein. Without limiting the foregoing, you shall not:
- Reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based upon the Service or any portion thereof
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
- Use the Service as a basis for developing a competing product, service, or offering
- Sublicense, resell, lease, lend, or otherwise transfer access to the Service to any third party
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Service
4. User Accounts and Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account and provide certain registration information. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information as necessary to maintain its accuracy. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify RugbyStats.net immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. RugbyStats.net shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this provision.
5. User Content and Data
In connection with your use of the Service, you may submit, upload, or otherwise make available certain content, including but not limited to player information, game statistics, roster data, organizational details, and other materials ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant RugbyStats.net a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, display, and back up such User Content solely as necessary to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete the relevant User Content from the Service, except to the extent the content persists for a limited period in routine encrypted backups.
You acknowledge that RugbyStats.net may compile, synthesize, and aggregate User Content with data from other users to create anonymized and aggregated datasets ("Aggregated Data"). RugbyStats.net shall own all right, title, and interest in and to such Aggregated Data, and nothing in these Terms shall be construed to limit RugbyStats.net's ability to use Aggregated Data for any purpose, including but not limited to analytics, benchmarking, product development, and research.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, you retain the ability to export your User Content at any time through the export functionality provided within the Service, subject to the technical capabilities and availability of such functionality.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you agree not to:
- Use the Service in any manner that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
- Engage in any automated data collection, scraping, harvesting, or extraction of data or content from the Service without prior written authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other user accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service through hacking, password mining, or any other means
- Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large burden on the Service's infrastructure
- Introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, defame, or otherwise infringe or violate the rights of any other party
- Impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
RugbyStats.net reserves the right, but has no obligation, to investigate any suspected violation of this Section and to take any action it deems appropriate, including but not limited to suspension or termination of your account, reporting to law enforcement authorities, and pursuing any available legal remedies.
7. Privacy and Data Processing
RugbyStats.net is committed to protecting the privacy of its users in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. In providing the Service, we collect and process certain personal information, including your name, email address, and authentication credentials, as well as any User Content you submit through the Service. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
The Service utilizes third-party infrastructure providers, including Supabase for database hosting and authentication services, Vercel for application hosting and content delivery, and Resend for transactional email delivery. Your data may be processed and stored on servers operated by these third-party providers in accordance with their respective privacy and security practices. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to such processing and storage arrangements.
RugbyStats.net does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their marketing purposes. We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the security and integrity of your data; however, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
7a. Coach Authority and Player Data
By entering player information into the Service (including names, jersey numbers, positions, and game statistics), you represent and warrant that you have appropriate authority from your team, organization, or program to enter such information for the purpose of statistical tracking and analysis.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with any applicable policies of your school, organization, or governing body regarding athlete data. For programs with athletes under the age of 13, we recommend using first names or initials only when entering roster data.
7b. Not a Medical Records System
The Service includes features for noting player availability (for example, available, limited, or unavailable) and the general body area affected by an injury. These features are coaching notes intended for roster planning only. RugbyStats.net is not a medical records system, and you agree not to use the Service to store medical diagnoses, clinical documentation, treatment records, or other health records.
Nothing in the Service constitutes medical advice. Decisions about a player's fitness to participate, including return-to-play decisions following injury, must be made by qualified medical professionals in accordance with applicable laws and your organization's policies, not on the basis of information stored in the Service.

RUGBYSTATS.NET MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE AVAILABLE ON AN UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE BASIS, OR THAT THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM RUGBYSTATS.NET OR THROUGH THE SERVICE SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY MADE HEREIN. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY RESULT FROM YOUR USE OF OR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE, YOUR DEALING WITH ANY OTHER SERVICE USER, AND ANY CONTENT OR DATA YOU ACCESS THROUGH THE SERVICE. YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RUGBYSTATS.NET, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUCCESSORS, OR ASSIGNS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY CONTAINED HEREIN, THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF RUGBYSTATS.NET TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO RUGBYSTATS.NET, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00). 10. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RugbyStats.net and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns from and against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your breach of any provision of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party, including without limitation any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property, or privacy right; or (d) any dispute or issue between you and any third party arising from or in connection with your use of the Service.
11. Account Suspension and Termination
RugbyStats.net may, in its sole and absolute discretion, at any time and for any reason or no reason, with or without prior notice or liability, suspend, disable, or terminate your account and/or your access to all or any part of the Service. Upon any termination of your account or access to the Service, your right to use the Service shall immediately cease. You acknowledge and agree that RugbyStats.net shall have no obligation to maintain, store, or provide copies of any User Content or other data associated with your account following termination, except as may be required by applicable law. You may export your User Content prior to termination using the export functionality available within the Service, subject to its availability. Sections 5, 7b, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 of these Terms shall survive any termination of your account.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any action related thereto shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and each party irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts in any such suit, action, or proceeding. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
13. General Provisions
Entire Agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RugbyStats.net regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
Waiver. No waiver of any term or condition of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition, and any failure to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without the prior written consent of RugbyStats.net. RugbyStats.net may freely assign or transfer these Terms without restriction. Subject to the foregoing, these Terms will bind and inure to the benefit of the parties, their successors, and permitted assigns.

RugbyStats.net reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, amend, or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, as determined in RugbyStats.net's sole discretion, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least thirty (30) days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use the Service after the effective date of any revised Terms, you agree to be bound by such revised Terms.
