What's New — July 3, 2026

Three busy weeks. The club side of RugbyStats grew a full online registration pipeline, tools for boosters and sponsors, and simpler ways to collect money and volunteers — while the team side got a redesigned roster page and the most thorough stats-accuracy audit we've ever done.

Online Registration

  • Public registration form — Share one link and families register players themselves: your own customizable form, guardian details required for minors, and email verification built in. No accounts needed.
  • Waivers, signed online — Attach waiver text to your form and collect signatures as part of registration. Signed waivers are stored immutably with the exact version the family saw.
  • Registration queue — New submissions land in a triage queue where you match them to existing players or create new ones in a click — and approved players drop straight into your dues tracking.
  • Document tracking — Define what each player needs on file (physicals, birth certificates, and the like), collect uploads into private storage, and watch a status board fill in as documents arrive.

Boosters & Sponsors

  • Booster directory — Track supporters and sponsor businesses in one place, with sponsorship tiers, year-over-year history, logos, and CSV import/export.
  • Public sign-up page — Share a link and boosters register themselves; new sign-ups wait in a pending tab for your approval.
  • Booster mailouts — Email segments of your booster list with unsubscribe handling done for you.
  • Public sponsors page — A shareable page that thanks your sponsors by tier, complete with logos and links.

Money & Game Day

  • Payment links — Add your Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, or check instructions once; they appear wherever families need to pay.
  • "I paid" self-reporting — Members mark dues as paid from their own dues card; you confirm from a simple queue instead of chasing spreadsheets.
  • Game-day duty roster — Add volunteer slots to any event (scoreboard, chains, snacks…) and let members claim them; headcounts update live.
  • Shareable recap graphics — After a game, generate a score graphic and a ready-to-post caption in your choice of tone, then share or download it for social media. Caption writing uses your club's own AI key, configured in Settings.

The New Roster Page

  • A real workspace — Your full roster stays pinned on the left (forwards and backs, alphabetical) while depth chart and lineup views share the right side. On phones it's three clean tabs.
  • Positions over jersey numbers — Players are identified by the positions they play, not a jersey number; numbers are now optional and out of the way.
  • Lineup from your depth chart — Generate a starting XV straight from your depth-chart first-choices; players ranked first at two positions are placed once, at their more senior slot.
  • Tap-to-fill lineups — Pick a lineup slot and the roster panel becomes the picker — no more hunting through modals.

Improvements

  • Getting-started checklist — New clubs see a checklist on Home that walks through the first steps, with links straight into the right settings.
  • Public club pages — Opt in to a public page at your own club link with fixtures, results, and (if you choose) try scorers — searchable and shareable.
  • A pricing page — Plans and pricing are now published on the site.
  • Easier reading everywhere — A contrast pass across the app means links, badges, and footers meet accessibility standards; pages also carry proper titles and preview cards when shared.

Bug Fixes

  • Reports always show the real score — Exported CSVs and PDF match reports now compute the score directly from your recorded events, so an edited or deleted event can never leave a stale score in a report.
  • Zone turnovers counted correctly — The field-zone breakdown no longer counts knock-ons in its Turnovers column.
  • Meters gained adds up — Team meters now include meters recorded in older games, matching what the player table always showed.
  • Cleaner field maps — Events flagged as duplicates no longer inflate zone counts, territory percentages, or the heat map.
  • Field position no longer sticks — After you record an event, the tapped field spot clears instead of silently attaching to everything you record next. Fixed in both live charting and film review.
  • Credit for lost turnovers — Recording a turnover the other team won now asks which of your players lost the ball, so the "turnovers lost" column on player stats finally fills in. In a hurry? Tap "Unknown Player" and it records instantly, like before.

Behind all of this sits a new permanent test suite that checks every statistic the app computes — game pages, season pages, leaderboards, exports — against hand-calculated answer keys from scripted matches. We also charted a full scripted game through the live interface, tap by tap, and verified every number on every screen matched. Your stats are the product; now they're proven.
